I had a great time at Alt. this year. I love leaving feeling immensely inspired to go and change and do better in all aspects of my life. I think one of the highlights for me was hearing from the co-founder of Pinterest. I think most of us have come to know and love Pinterest, but I fell in love even more after hearing from Ben Silbermann. He was genuine and funny and clearly is really passionate about what he is doing with his company. As he answered questions and took suggestions from people, you could tell that everything they do is so carefully thought out and purposeful and I thought that was so commendable. I wrote down tons of quotes from his speech and I thought I would highlight a few.
And when I thought about this in the context of my own life and what I've seen in others, it's done just that. I've been featuring all the meals we've been cooking and I've seen so many Pinterest inspired crafts and projects all over.
And ending on that note, he received a big standing ovation from all of us! We heard from some really great speakers and panelists and I'm so glad to have gone.
I also wanted to share a few of my favorite business cards as well as the cards I passed out. Obviously at a design conference, business cards are thoroughly crafted by most of the attendees. Here are a few that I loved...clearly I'm drawn to letterpress and thick paper
{A Blog About Love, The Allison Show, Rowley Press, Amy Turn Sharp, Armelle, Annily Green, See Jane Blog, Pattern Pulp}
How cute is the little business card bag that Jane from See Jane Blog handed out. Genius idea!
And here is what I came up with this year. New business cards and some Valentine's Day gift tags with baker's twine in little pockets.

Thanks for the shout out! it was great meeting you at alt., just last night i was admiring my valentine's tags from you!
best of luck with your new little one & maternity leave.
xoxo.
I like Ben's quotes--thanks for sharing them. I definitely feel like pinterest inspires me to do things in the world.
I love the business cards. I need a new printer, where did you print those.. They are beautifully printed.
A local printer in Provo. I print there enough that I have a pretty great deal worked out. They are fast and cheap and pretty much my favorite thing around here!
HI DEAR! So glad to see my card here. I LOVED your's too. And I loved meeting you. Hope your live has settled back down after Alt. I just now finished my last loads of laundry and unpacking last night! haha. I guess it's been a busy week
Let's stay in touch... - Mara
Thanks for including Pattern Pulp! Fabulous quotes from Ben's keynote- couldn't agree more with your sentiments.
